Biography

It was back in 1995 when Andy Pickles and Amadeus Mozart set up Tidy, which went on to become the biggest hard house label and one of the world’s leading clubbing brands. However, it wasn’t until March 1999 that the pair performed their first DJ set together.

As founders of the Tidy Trax empire, the duo built a front-running label in hard dance, creating a platform that allowed them to showcase their skills behind the decks at thousands of events across the globe.

Before The Tidy Boys’ journey began, both Amadeus and Andy had already established prolific careers individually as DJs and producers. Under the name Hyperlogic, they scored a major crossover hit in 1995 with ‘Only Me’. After working with major record labels, they decided to set up their own — Tidy Trax — which went on to become the world’s biggest hard house label and the best-selling vinyl label in Europe during the late 90s.

They also played a key role in producing and developing other major artists, helping to launch the careers of Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Eddie Halliwell and many more. Alongside this, they achieved significant album success with the Hard House Euphoria series, earning multiple gold discs.

The creativity, passion and humour they’ve brought to their work — whether in the studio, across albums, on Tidy TV or in their live sets — has inspired many. Never taking themselves too seriously, The Tidy Boys have always had their tongue firmly in cheek, while proving themselves as natural entertainers who genuinely enjoy what they do.

From hosting their own events at Magna in Sheffield to the legendary Tidy Weekenders, they’ve also headlined major festivals with their own arenas at Creamfields, Godskitchen Global Gathering, Escape Into The Park, PlanetLove Festival and Dance Valley. Along the way, they’ve delivered memorable Ibiza moments, including surprise sets with Dave Pearce and Judge Jules.

After years of touring worldwide and playing in almost every town and city across the UK, Tidy celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015. Following the TIDYXX Tour, the boys stepped back from regular weekly club appearances, marking the moment with a special farewell party in Birmingham attended by 2,500 people. Since then, they’ve remained selective — only performing at Tidy events or very special occasions, a rule that still stands today.

Since 2022, the harder, faster Tidy sound has seen a resurgence in popularity. Artists such as Hannah Laing, Patrick Topping and Eats Everything have all cited Tidy and hard house as influences on their current sound. Each has also featured on the Tidy label — something they’ve described as a milestone moment.

Now back in the studio, The Tidy Boys are once again producing music and nurturing new talent. They’ve also rediscovered their appetite for special one-off events, continuing to showcase the full range of their sound — from party-driven sets to deeper, more underground grooves — always delivering an engaging journey.

In 2025, Tidy celebrates 30 years — a milestone few labels reach. With a tour and special events in the works, The Tidy Boys remain right at the centre of the celebrations.
